How to See Who Has Access to Facebook Business Page: The Complete Guide
Article Content

To see who has access to a Facebook Business Page, open Meta Business Suite or your Facebook Page settings and review the people, businesses, and partners connected to the account. If you don’t currently have access to the Page, there are alternative ways to identify who manages or owns it.

Whether you’re trying to remove an old agency, onboard a new team member, recover access from an ex-employee, or simply audit permissions, knowing who controls your Facebook Page is important for both security and day-to-day management.

In this guide, we’ll walk you through the three main ways to see who has access to a Facebook Business Page and what to do if you can’t access it yourself.

Which method should I use to check Facebook Page access?

First, determine your situation:

  1. If you already manage the Facebook Page and want to check who has access, use Methods 1–3 below.
  2. If you’re trying to find out who runs a Facebook Page you don’t have access to, skip to ‍the What if you can’t access the Facebook Page settings section.

Method 1: Meta Business Suite (best for Business Portfolios)

Use this if the Facebook Page is connected to a Meta Business Portfolio. This is the most common setup for businesses, agencies, and brands managing multiple assets.

Method 2: Facebook Page settings (best for individually managed Pages)

Use this if the Page is managed directly through Facebook and not primarily through a Business Portfolio.

Method 3: Access Detective by Leadsie (best for agencies managing multiple clients)

Use this if you want to quickly identify admins, agencies, and permission levels without manually checking Meta settings.

Method 1: See who has Facebook Page access via Meta Business Suite

To see who has access in Meta Business Suite, go to business.facebook.com, click “Settings” in the bottom-left sidebar, then select “People” under the Users section.

⚠️ Note: This method only works if your Page is part of a Meta Business Portfolio. If it's not connected yet, you’ll need to add it to your Business Portfolio first.

Here’s the step-by-step process:

Step 1: Open Meta Business Suite settings

Go to business.facebook.com and open the correct Business Portfolio.  If you manage multiple Business Portfolios, use the top-left dropdown to check this.

Then click “Settings” in the bottom-left corner.

Step 2: Open the People section

Under the Users section, click “People.”

This section shows everyone who currently has access to the Business Portfolio and connected assets.

⚠️ If you don’t see the People tab, you likely don’t have Full Control access. Ask an existing admin to upgrade your permissions.

Step 3: Review people, permissions, and connected assets

Each person is listed with:

  • Their name and email
  • Their access level (Full Control or Partial Control)
  • Their last active date, which helps identify inactive admins or stale accounts that may still have access

Users with Full Control can add and remove people, manage permissions, and access all connected assets. These are the admins you’ll need to contact if you want to request or change access.

Only people with Facebook access with full control can add or remove people

Click “Details” next to a user to see more granular permissions and the assets they manage, including:

  • Facebook Pages
  • Instagram accounts
  • Ad accounts
  • Pixels

💡 Pro Tip: You can also check access from the asset perspective by going to Settings > Accounts > Pages, selecting the Facebook Page, and reviewing the connected People, Partners, and Business Portfolios.

(Optional) Step 4: Check Partner access

Under Users > Partners, you can also review agencies, freelancers, or external businesses that were granted access to the Business Portfolio.

This is useful for identifying previous agencies, contractors, or partners that may still have access to your Facebook assets.

Method 2: See who has Facebook Page access on an individually managed Page

To see who has admin access on a Facebook Page you manage, switch into the Page from your Facebook profile, go to Settings & privacy > Settings > Page setup > Page access, and review the people or business accounts listed there.

⚠️ Note: You’ll need at least partial Facebook access to the Page to view these settings.

Here’s the step-by-step process:

Step 1: Switch into your Facebook Page

Click your profile picture in the top-right corner of Facebook, then select your Page from the dropdown menu.

If you don't see the Page listed, click “See all profiles” to view the full list connected to your account.

💡 Tip: You’ll know you successfully switched into the Page when the profile picture changes to the Page logo and Facebook shows a confirmation popup.

Step 2: Open the Page Access settings

Click the Page profile picture again in the top-right corner, then go to Settings & privacy > Settings.

Go to Page settings while in a Facebook Page profile

From the left-hand menu, click Page setup > Page access.

Step 3: Review who has access to the Facebook Page

This section shows everyone who currently has access to the Page, along with their permission levels.

Page Access includes three sections:

  • People with Facebook access: Users with full or partial Page control
  • People with task access: Users with limited permissions. They can manage content, messages, ads, insights, or community activity without full admin control.
  • Business accounts with access: Connected agencies, partners, or external businesses

Check Facebook Page access on mobile

You can also check Facebook Page access from the Facebook mobile app by switching into your Page, then going to Settings & privacy > Settings > Page setup > Page access.

However, some Business Portfolio settings may still require desktop.

Method 3: See who has Facebook Page access via Access Detective

Access Detective by Leadsie helps agencies quickly identify who currently has access to Facebook Pages, Business Portfolios, and other Meta assets during client onboarding without manually checking multiple Meta settings or chasing down access details across departments.

To use it, sign up for Leadsie, generate your secure access request link, and send it to your client. Once they open the link, Access Detective automatically shows:

  • Who currently has access
  • Which businesses or agencies are connected
  • Which assets are linked to the account
  • Who may need to approve or update permissions

This is especially useful when:

  • Clients don’t know who originally set up the account
  • Previous agencies still have access after a poor handover
  • Multiple admins or team members manage permissions
  • Access is spread across Facebook Pages, Business Portfolios, Instagram accounts, and ad accounts

What if you can’t access the Facebook Page settings?

If you’re trying to identify who owns or manages a Facebook Page you can’t access, there are still a few ways to investigate who runs it:

1. Check the Page Transparency section

Open the Facebook Page and click on its name. A pop-up will appear, and near the bottom you’ll see the Page transparency section.

This section can show:

  • The Page creation date
  • Previous Page names
  • The country where admins are located

Previous Page names can sometimes help identify the original business or owner behind the Page.

2. Check the Page’s About section

Many businesses publicly list:

  • Email addresses
  • Phone numbers
  • Websites
  • Team or founder information

This is often the easiest way to contact the person managing the Page.

3. Look for connected Facebook Groups

If the Page has a linked Facebook Group, check the publicly visible admins and moderators. In many cases, the same people manage both the Group and the Page.

4. Send the Page a direct message

If no admin details are publicly visible, try messaging the Page directly and asking who manages it or who can help with access requests.

5. Check the Meta Ad Library

If the Page is running Facebook ads, the Meta Ad Library may show advertiser or payer information connected to the business.

This can sometimes help identify the company or organization behind the Page.

5. Recover the Page through Meta support

If the Facebook Page was originally created inside a Business Account you no longer control (for example, by an ex-employee or former agency), you can submit a Business Page Dispute through Meta Support.

This process allows businesses to formally request ownership recovery using business verification documents and proof of brand ownership.

⚠️ Avoid third-party “Facebook admin finder” tools. Many are scams or phishing attempts, and Facebook does not publicly expose private admin identities.

Common problems when checking Facebook Page access

Can’t find the access settings or admin list? Here are the most common issues and how to fix them.

Problem 1: You can’t access Meta Business Suite

If the Facebook Page doesn’t appear in Meta Business Suite, or you can’t open the settings, you likely don’t have the required permissions.

Solution: Contact an existing Page admin or Business Portfolio admin and ask them to grant you access. You can also send an access request instead.

Problem 2: You can’t see the People tab

If the People section is missing inside Meta Business Suite, your account probably doesn’t have Full Control access.

Solution: Ask an existing admin to upgrade your permissions to Full Control so you can manage users and access settings.

Problem 3: The Page is managed through a Business Portfolio

Some Facebook Pages are connected to a Meta Business Portfolio, which means individual users may not appear inside the standard Facebook Page settings.

Solution: Use Meta Business Suite > Settings > People to view the full admin and access list.

Problem 4: Too many people have access

If multiple employees, agencies, or contractors have access, it can be difficult to figure out who has the highest level of control.

Solution: Focus on users with Facebook access with Full Control, since these are the Page admins who can manage permissions and remove users.

‍‍How to remove someone’s access from a Facebook Page

Remove access through Meta Business Suite

In Meta Business Suite, go to: Settings > Accounts > Pages > Select the Page > People

Find the person you want to remove, click their profile, and remove their access.

⚠️ You’ll need Full Control access to manage or remove other users.

Remove access from an individually managed Facebook Page

Switch into the Facebook Page, then go to: Settings & privacy > Settings > Page setup > Page access

Under People with Facebook access or People with task access, find the person you want to remove and adjust or remove their permissions.

⚠️ Only users with Facebook access and Full Control can remove other people from the Page.

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s the difference between a Facebook Page Admin and a Business Portfolio Admin?

A Facebook Page Admin controls the Page itself, while a Business Portfolio Admin controls all assets inside the Business Portfolio - Pages, ad accounts, pixels, catalogs, apps, and more. If a Page is part of a Business Portfolio, the Portfolio Admin has the highest authority.

Can I transfer ownership of a Facebook Page to another Business Portfolio?

Not in a single step, but you can move it. If you have full Facebook access to the Page, you can request a release of Page ownership from the current business account. Once the request is approved and the Page is released after the grace period, it can then be added to a different Business Portfolio.

Keep in mind that connected assets like ad accounts, Instagram accounts, pixels, and permissions may also need to be reviewed or reconnected afterward.

Why can’t I see who owns a Facebook Page?

Facebook hides Page admin identities for privacy, so you can’t publicly see the full admin list of a Page you don’t manage.

If you already have access but still can’t see certain users, you likely only have task access or limited permissions instead of Facebook access with Full Control.

In these cases, you’ll need an existing admin to upgrade your permissions or use a tool like Leadsie’s Access Detective to help identify who manages the Page.

What if the Facebook Page is impersonating my business?

If the Page is impersonating your business, using your brand without permission, or involved in fraud, report it through the Page Transparency section or contact Meta Support directly.

For serious trademark, fraud, or legal disputes, you may also need legal assistance or business ownership documentation to recover the Page.

Why is it important to know who has access to a Facebook Page?

Knowing who has access to a Facebook Page helps businesses and agencies:

  • Onboard new team members faster
  • Remove old agencies or freelancers
  • Handle access requests more efficiently
  • Detect suspicious or unauthorized activity

💡 Best practice: Review Facebook Page access at least once per quarter to remove inactive users and outdated permissions.

How often should businesses audit Page access?

Agencies and businesses should review Page access at least once per quarter, especially if:

  • Team members change roles
  • Freelancers complete a project
  • Agencies are hired or offboarded

Regular audits prevent security risks and unauthorized activity.
