To give someone access to your Google Ads account, go to Admin > Access and security, click '+', enter their Google Account email, choose an access level, and click Send invitation. They will get access as soon as they accept.
If you're working with an agency, they may instead ask for your 10-digit Customer ID so they can link your account to their Manager account. You can then approve their request in Admin > Access and security > Managers.
Either way, you never need to share your Google account password to grant someone access to your Google Ads. Each user can sign in with their own credentials, and you can change or remove their permissions whenever necessary.
â
You can give colleagues, freelancers, or business partners access to your Google Ads account by sending an email invitation directly from the Admin panel in your Google Ads.Â
Keep in mind: access is account-wide. You can't limit someone to a single campaign.
â
Go to ads.google.com and sign in with the Google account that has admin access to the Google Ads account you want to share
Once you're signed in, click Admin in the left-hand navigation menu, and select Access and security.

While in the Users tab, click the blue + button.
Enter their email address, which must be associated with a Google Account. This can be a Gmail address or a business email address linked to Google.
Note: If you can't see the option to add users, check you have the right permissions (find your email and access level in the same Users tab) or ask an existing account administrator for help.
â
Assign the appropriate permissions for what they need to do. You can choose from:
For most freelancers or agency members managing campaigns, Standard access is sufficient. If they only need to review performance, choose Read-only.
You can also set an expiry date for their access if you want it to be temporary.Â
â
Click Send invitation. Theyâll receive an email inviting them to your account, and must accept it on their end.

When they accept, youâll get a notification. But you can also check the invitation's status by returning to Admin > Access and security > Users.
Note: Thereâs no expiration date for the invite link.
â
If the person you invited isnât sure what to do, send them these instructions:
Once signed in, they will see a confirmation that you have access to the account.
If you are working with a marketing agency, you can give them your Google Ads Customer ID instead of adding members of their team individually.
They'll use it to request access from their Google Ads Manager account (MCC), which is an account type agencies typically use to manage their clients' Google Ads accounts.Â
To connect your account to their Manager account:
Once linked, your agency can manage your campaigns from their Manager account.Â
Note: Linking an agency's Manager account doesn't automatically transfer ownership of your Google Ads account. You will remain the account owner and can view linked manager accounts and remove their access at any time under Admin > Access and security > Managers.
â
Google Ads has five access levels:
Tip: Keep at least two Admins on your own team, so you are less likely to lose access to the account if someone leaves.
â
Editing or removing someone's access is done in the same page (Admin > Access & security).
For individual users head to the User tab, and for agencies that linked their MCC account, go to the Managers tab.

1. To edit account access, simply click on the access level of the user in question. This will open a drop-down menu that allows you to adjust their role.Â
2. To remove someone's access, click on 'Revoke access' from the row with their email. Google will ask you to confirm that you want to revoke access, so confirm the decision.
3. To cancel an invitation they haven't accepted, click Revoke in the Actions column.
â
Old users, unknown manager accounts, or suspicious access activity can sometimes contribute to account trust or security issues.Â
If your account has already been flagged, hereâs what to do if you need to recover a suspended Google Ads account.
Ask them to check their spam and promotions folders, and confirm you used the email linked to their Google Account. If it's still missing, check whether the invitation is still pending under Admin > Access and security > Users. If it doesn't arrive after allowing for a delivery delay, revoke the invitation and send a new one.
â
âCheck that you have Admin access under Admin > Access and security > Users. If you don't, ask an existing administrator to upgrade your permissions or send the invitation themselves.
â
Your account may restrict invitations to certain email domains. Ask an Admin to check Admin > Access and security > Security > Allowed domains and add the recipient's domain if appropriate. Alternatively, the recipient may have reached Google's limit of 20 Google Ads accounts per Google Account. If they manage many accounts, ask them to check their existing access or use a Google Ads Manager account (MCC).
ââ
Check that you gave them the right Customer ID (the 10-digit number at the top right of the account they're meant to manage, not a different account you can see). Then ask them to resend the request.
Hiring a marketing agency, freelancer, or consultant? Giving them access to your marketing accounts shouldn't require endless emails, confusing permission settings, or sharing login credentials (too risky).

No. Google doesnât allow campaign-level access, as permissions are set at the account level. That means anyone you invite will see all campaigns within that account.Â
â
Go to Admin > Access and security in your Google Ads account. The Users tab lists all users with access, their email addresses, and their permission levels, while the Managers tab shows any agency Manager accounts linked to yours.
You can edit or revoke access from this page at any time.
â
Once access is revoked, the user immediately loses visibility and control over your campaigns. Your ads wonât be paused or deleted; everything will continue running as usual unless they were using scripts, automated rules, or budgets managed externally.
ââ
To transfer ownership, add the new owner as an Admin, check they can sign in, then have them remove your access. Google doesnât have a one-click ownership transfer feature, so itâs done through access changes.
If an agency's Manager account was linked with ownership rights, unlink it (or ask the agency to) under Admin > Access and security > Managers.Â
Tip: Always keep at least two Admins so the account is never locked.
â
Yes, your Customer ID only identifies your account. On its own, it gives nobody access. An agency can use it to send you a link request, but nothing happens until an Admin on your account accepts it.
