How to Give Access to Your TikTok Account (2026)
Article Content

To give someone access to TikTok business and advertising assets, add them as a member or partner in TikTok Business Center, then assign the accounts, assets, and permissions they need.

All of this access is managed through TikTok Business Center. Otherwise, you would have to share your TikTok login details, which we don’t recommend. In this guide, we’ll show you how to give access to an individual or an agency without sharing your password.

Option 1: Give an individual access through TikTok Business Center

To give someone access, sign in to TikTok Business Center, go to Users > Add Members, enter their email address, and assign their role, assets, and permissions.

Use this method to give an individual, such as an employee, freelancer, consultant, or social media manager, access to assets in your TikTok Business Center without sharing your TikTok password.

If you’re giving access to an agency or another company with its own Business Center, add it as a Business Center Partner instead.‍

📋 Before you get started: You must be a Business Center Admin to add new members.

Step 1: Log in to TikTok Business Center

Go to TikTok Business Center (https://business.tiktok.com/) and sign in.

If you don’t have a Business Center, create one using your TikTok for Business account before continuing.

Step 2: Go to Users and select Add Members

In the left-hand menu, click Users, followed by Add Members.

This opens the invitation window, where you can enter the person’s details and configure their access.

🔎 Note: You can add up to 4,000 members per Business Center.

Step 3: Enter the member’s email address

Enter the email address associated with the person’s TikTok for Business account. TikTok may ask you to confirm the name connected to it.

Check the address carefully, as TikTok will send the invitation there.

Tip: If the person doesn’t have a TikTok for Business account, they may need to create one before accepting the invitation.

Step 4: Choose the member’s role

Choose the member’s overall Business Center role:

  • Admin: Has broad control over the Business Center, including members, settings, and assets.
  • Standard: Can only use the assets and permissions assigned by an Admin.

For most employees, freelancers, consultants, and social media managers, Standard is the safer option. Only select Admin if the person needs to manage the Business Center or control other users’ access.

If required, you can also assign a finance role:

  • Finance Manager: Can manage billing, payments, and balances.
  • Finance Analyst: Can view and download financial information but cannot make changes.

Only assign a finance role if the person handles billing, payments, budgets, or financial reporting.

Step 5: Assign assets and permissions

Select the assets you want to share, such as your advertiser accounts or TikTok Shop, and then choose the appropriate permission level for each one. For a TikTok ad account, the permissions include:

  • Admin: Can manage campaigns, members, settings, and billing.
  • Operator: Can create and manage campaigns but cannot control account settings or finances.
  • Analyst: Can view campaigns and performance data but cannot make changes.

Give the member the lowest permission level they need to do their work.

Step 6: Review and send the invitation

Click Save to finish. The user will receive an email invitation and must accept it before gaining access.
Tip:
To resend the invitation, go to Users, find the pending member, and select Resend request.

‍

How to edit or remove user access in TikTok Business Center

To change or revoke someone’s access, open the Users section in TikTok Business Center and select the relevant member. You must be a Business Center Admin to manage another user’s access.

  1. Log in to your TikTok Business Center ( https://business.tiktok.com/ ) and go to the Users tab on the left-hand sidebar.
  2. To change their access, select Edit and update their Business Center role, assigned assets, or asset-level permissions. This is useful when someone changes positions or only needs partial access.
  3. To revoke their access completely, click the three dots and choose Remove. They will immediately lose access to all roles, permissions, and assets previously assigned to them.

💡 Security tip: Regularly reviewing your user list helps prevent old collaborators from keeping access to sensitive accounts. A quick audit every few months is best practice for security.

‍

Option 2: Give an agency access as a TikTok Business Center Partner

To give an agency access, add its Business Center as a Partner, then choose the TikTok accounts, ad accounts, and other assets it can use.

Use this method when working with an agency, vendor, consultant team, or another company that has its own TikTok Business Center. Partner access lets the organization manage access for its team without you having to add every person individually.

If you only need to give access to one employee, freelancer, or individual consultant, add them as a Business Center member instead.

Steps

📋 Before you begin, make sure:

  • You have your partner’s Business Center ID
  • You're logged in as a Business Center Admin

Step 1: Log in to TikTok Business Center

Go to TikTok Business Center ( https://business.tiktok.com/ ) and sign in to the Business Center that owns the assets you want to share.

Make sure you’re using the correct Business Center if you manage more than one organization or client.

Step 2: Go to Partners and select Add a partner

From the left-hand menu, select Partners, then click Add a partner.

The Partners section manages relationships with agencies and other organizations rather than individual users.

Note: In an Enterprise Business Center, partner management may appear under Organization.

Step 3: Enter the agency’s Business Center ID

Enter the Business Center ID provided by the agency or partner, then click Next.

The 19-digit Business Center ID identifies the agency’s organization and ensures you share your assets with the correct partner.

If they’re not sure where to find it, they can look it up in Business Settings > Settings in their own Business Center. Their Business Center ID will appear directly under their account name.

Step 4: Choose whether to form a media agency partnership

TikTok may ask whether the partner buys media and manages ad campaigns for your business:

  • Select Yes if the agency is responsible for managing your TikTok advertising.
  • Select No if it provides other services and does not manage your ad campaigns.

If both parties approve, selecting Yes adds a Media agency partnership label to the partner. It does not grant access automatically; you will choose the agency’s accounts, assets and permissions in the next step.

You can also select Share this Business Center’s verification with your partner if the agency needs to use your verified business information. Leave it unchecked unless the agency specifically asks you to share the verification.

Step 5: Assign assets and confirm the partner access

Choose the TikTok assets you want to share with the agency, such as a TikTok account, ad account, pixel, audience, or catalog. Then select the appropriate permission level for each asset.

Only share the assets the agency needs to perform its work. For example, if it only manages advertising campaigns, it may not need access to billing information or unrelated ad accounts.

The agency will receive the partner request in its Business Center. Once accepted, its Admins can assign the shared assets to the relevant people on its team.

‍

How to remove or update a partner in TikTok Business Center

If your collaboration changes, you can easily remove or adjust a partner’s permissions.

Removing a Business Center partner

  1. Log in to your TikTok Business Center account at https://business.tiktok.com/.
  2. In the left-hand menu, click Partners.
  3. Select the partner you want to remove.
  4. On the partner details page, click the trash can icon to remove them.
  5. Click Confirm to finalize the removal.

Once removed, the partner will immediately lose all access. They won’t be able to view or manage any ad accounts or assets that were previously shared with them.

💡 Tip: Removing the partner is much cleaner than removing individual users. It cuts off access for everyone in the partner’s Business Center at once.

Updating partner permissions

  1. Log in to your TikTok Business Center account at https://business.tiktok.com/.
  2. In the left-hand menu, click “Accounts” and open the specific asset and account you want to edit.
  3. Go to the Partners tab.
  4. Click “Share with partner” or “Edit permissions” (depending on asset type).
  5. Choose your partner and assign the appropriate permission level.

Your partner will now see the updated permissions in their Business Center, and the changes will take effect immediately.

❗ Note: Only your Business Center Admins can change partner permissions. Partner admins (people on their side) cannot change their own access.

TikTok account vs. Business Center vs. Ads Manager

TikTok account

Your TikTok account, whether it’s a Business Account or a personal one, is simply your profile inside the TikTok app. It’s where you post videos, reply to comments, check messages, and go LIVE. But TikTok does not let you give someone access to your profile from the app itself.

The only way to share access directly in-app is by handing over your username and password, which we strongly recommend avoiding for security reasons.

TikTok Business Center

TikTok Business Center is a separate platform that lets you manage permissions, assets, and ad accounts in one place. If you want to give someone secure access (without sharing your password), you must use the Business Center.

Through TikTok Business Center, you can:

  • Invite individual team members
  • Add agencies and other organizations as partners
  • Assign Business Center roles
  • Share specific TikTok accounts, ad accounts, pixels, audiences, catalogs, and other assets
  • Control asset-level permissions
  • Update or revoke access when necessary

TikTok Ads Manager

TikTok Ads Manager is the platform you use to create, manage, and analyze your TikTok advertising campaigns. It’s also where advertisers can control budgets, set targeting, build creatives, and track performance.

It’s a separate dashboard from your TikTok profile and TikTok Business Center.

However, if you want to give someone access to your ad account, you’ll still need to do it through TikTok Business Center.

‍

TikTok roles and permissions explained

TikTok Business Center uses two layers of access:

  1. A Business Center role controls what someone can do across the Business Center
  2. Asset-level permissions control what they can do with a specific asset, such as an ad account.

1. TikTok Business Center roles

  • Admin
    • Has full control of the Business Center
    • Can add/remove members, manage partners, create ad accounts, assign access, handle security settings, etc.
  • Standard
    • Can only access assets they’re assigned to (e.g., an ad account or pixel)
    • Can only work within the permissions given to them by an Admin
    • Cannot manage members or settings

Most users should receive the Standard role. Only assign Admin access to someone who needs to manage the Business Center or control other users’ access.

Learn more about TikTok Business Center roles here.

2. Asset-level permissions

Each asset type has its own set of permissions, so the available roles (and what those roles allow someone to do) depend on the asset you’re sharing.

For example, TikTok ad accounts use the following Ads Manager permission levels:

  • Admin
    • Has full access to Ads Manager
    • Can manage members, change settings, edit campaigns, and handle billing/finance.
  • Operator
    • Can create and manage campaigns and view performance data
    • Cannot manage account settings or finance
  • Analyst
    • Has view-only access
    • Can see campaigns, reports, and performance
    • Cannot edit or publish anything

Troubleshooting TikTok Business Center access

1) The member accepted the invitation but can’t see an account or asset

Go to Users, select the member, and confirm that you assigned the correct account or asset. They should also check that they’re viewing the right Business Center.

2) The member has access but can’t perform the expected action

Check their asset-level permission. An Analyst can only view ad account data, while an Operator can manage campaigns but may not have access to settings or finances.

Business Center access also doesn’t automatically provide access to every feature in the TikTok app, such as organic posting or messages.

3) The TikTok account can’t be linked to the ad account

Make sure the TikTok account and ad account are connected to the same Business Center. The member or partner must also have the required permissions for both assets.

4) An Admin can’t manage billing or payment settings

Having Admin access to an ad account does not necessarily provide every Business Center or finance permission.

Check the person’s Business Center role, ad account permission, and finance role separately. If they need to manage billing, payments, or account balances, they may also require Finance Manager access.

5) The member didn’t receive or can’t accept the invitation

Confirm that you used the email associated with their TikTok for Business account and ask them to check their spam folder. You can resend the invitation from the Users section.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I link an existing TikTok account to Business Center?

Yes. You can link an existing TikTok account for ad delivery or account management, depending on what access your team needs. The account owner must authorize the connection before it can be used.

Can an agency run Spark Ads without my TikTok password?

Yes. You can authorize an agency to use your TikTok identity and organic posts for Spark Ads without sharing your login details or giving it broader profile access. You can link the TikTok account for ad delivery or authorize an individual post with a video code.

Does a Business Center Partner get access to all my assets?

No. A partner can only access the accounts and assets you specifically share with it. You must assign additional or newly created assets separately if the partner needs them.

Can multiple people or agencies access the same TikTok ad account?

Yes. You can assign the same ad account to multiple members or partners and give each one a different permission level based on their responsibilities.

Does removing a member or partner delete their campaigns?

No. Removing a member or partner revokes their access but does not delete the ad account, campaigns, or other Business Center assets. Any existing campaigns remain unless an authorized user pauses, changes, or deletes them separately.
